How to write the best introduction #soamazing

Hey guys. How are you doing today? I'm doing amazingly, but one thing that has got me thinking is how can I write better introductions on my formal essays. Now, the introduction is the most important part of the piece. It must grab the reader’s attention through your introduction. I originally made a list of the things an introduction must do well, but that was way too long. Now I have narrowed it down to just 5 important things that an introduction must do well.
1.It must say what the piece is going to be about.
2. It must provide examples.
3. It must establish a mood for the piece.
4. It must speak to a certain set of people.
5.It must gain the reader’s attention from the start.

The first sentence is the most important sentence. If it's written poorly, it'll immediately throw the reader’s attention off and the reader will move on to a piece that captures their attention. Moreover, it can ruin the essay in its entirety.

All introductions being SEAF is another way to state the list of 5 that I had at the top. SEAF is a helpful acronym to consider when you are writing your introduction. It is easy to remember as it is quite quirky, but it's also easy to memorize.

If you would like to explore a more expansive article on this, I encourage you to read the University of North Carolina's writing center's article.
